Kate (KR) Morris is a poet and playwright based in Missoula, Montana. They hold an MA in Theatre from the University of Montana and an MFA in Writing from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago.
Their plays, performances and collaborations have been hosted or produced by The Montana Repertory Theatre, Bare Bait Dance (Missoula MT), Burning Coal Theatre Company (Raleigh), SAIC’s New Blood Performance Festival, Red Rover, Columbia College Chicago, Chicago's RhinoFest, the Mid-America Theatre Conference, the Old Marquer Theater (New Orleans), Verge Theatre (Bozeman, MT), and BetweenTheLines Theatre (Missoula, MT). Her writing is published in certain corners of the internet (Duende), and in print with Funny Looking Dog Quarterly, Garden City Beast, Sin Fronteras (as faculty contributor) and Present Tense Pamphlets by Northwestern University Press.
They are a 2016 SAIC Writing Fellowship Award recipient and have taught writing and playwriting at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and the University of Montana.
